DEFINITION

The IDF is a decentralized, international association of individuals and groups which have in common their support for the Socialist Industrial Union program that was developed principally by Daniel De Leon.

PURPOSE

The IDF is an educational organization which aims to increase the literacy of the population about socialism. Affiliates may also engage in other activities, such as union and political party work. The IDF strives to add and promote new ways for affiliates to cooperate.

STRUCTURE

A single person may choose to be an IDF affiliate.

An entire political party, labor union, periodical publication group, or other organization, or a section of an organization, may choose to be an IDF affiliate.

Affiliates may choose to combine with other affiliates for any purpose or project, for any period of time. They may associate, on the basis of geographical proximity, shared theoretical interest, or any other criterion. Such associations shall manage themselves.

DEMOCRACY

By means of one vote per person, or by means of one vote per affiliated organization, affiliates may make plans to cooperate or enact decisions that are not binding on other groups or individuals.

Activities of the IDF as a whole shall be administered by one-person, one-vote.
